Our Passion
Great Response Speech Therapy is a traveling pediatric private practice specializing in coming to you! Based out of St. Joseph, we make speech and language services accessible for families with children who may be best serviced at home rather than a clinic, whose parents work full-time and need to be treated at daycare, or who have siblings that would rather not sit in the waiting room! We work within a 10-15 mile radius of St. Joseph. We are private pay.
Our Story
Dana Tigelaar, M.A. CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist and owner of Great Response Speech Therapy. She completed her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Speech Pathology from Western Michigan University. Dana has over 10 years of experience working with children and adults in private clinics, early intervention in public schools, travel therapy for traumatic brain injury, inpatient rehab at Mary Free Bed, and most recently as a Clinical Instructor at Calvin University. She has studied or been trained in Greenspan’s DIR Floortime, Beckman Oral Motor, the Hanen Approach, and the Kaufman technique. She specializes in pediatrics and loves collaborating with families to integrate skills into their daily routines. Dana is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association and licensed by the state of Michigan.
On a personal note, Dana is married and a mom to three children. She has been through therapy with two of her own kids and knows what it is like to bring siblings along to appointments, commute to downtown locations through traffic, and advocate for her children’s health concerns. These issues are what inspired her to start this in-home practice in hopes of making the therapy journey less stressful while partnering with families and celebrating their children’s successes along the way!
